Formica Farewell

We've plans to do a thorough kitchen remodel in the future. To make it livable for now (meaning less ugly) aesthetic changes are underway. Blue spotted formica is the counter top and (was) the backsplash on the wall extending from the counter all the way to the bottom of the cabinets.





Unfortunately the plaster came off in a few spots, so I'll spackle those areas, take the formica glue off and then sand the whole surface, re-texture and paint! As for the paint color, we had picked out a fun sunsetish color, (kinda peach/pumpkin) but after seeing the dark glue next to the cabinets and light formica we may be taking a trip back to the paint section and getting some brown samples, as I really like the dark brown next to the blond wood and light counters...more later!
