We went to the apple tasting last weekend with in-law's Brock and Katie. It was my first experience with the Portland Nursery and it was love at first sight (again) with another local nursery. Whodathunk?
My favorites? The Galer, Mutsu, Northern Spy, Rubinette and Splendour. Keegan's faves? Ashmead's Kernel and Calville Blanc.
The Apple Tasting is on again this weekend if you have a hankering to eat a LOT of apple or want to have some good old fashioned, fall-time (and free) fun in PDX. I'd recommend getting there early. We got there at 10am and there were already a number of people.
